Reverge Studios Internship: Week 6
This week would prove to be my most difficult undertaking yet. Characters needed to be able to move while playing their lip sync animation, and for that the characters needed to be able to walk to a point. Getting the characters to walk to a waypoint took a couple days, but was simple enough once I figured out how to work the location scripts. But getting the two animations to blend? Only do this if you want to struggle. This took so long to troubleshoot, there are so many places things go wrong. I got the walking animation working with the lip sync but only using band-aid fixes and by breaking the meshes to add IK rigs that didn't exist. So help me if Unreal doesn't get their act together and make their default animations actually work with their own default character models I'm going to scream into the windows of their headquarters.
